U.S. 41 north of East Baffin Drive, South Venice - August 14, 2026

Incident Details

• A 28-year-old Venice man was operating a 2008 Honda CRF motorcycle northbound along the east sidewalk of U.S. 41, also known as Tamiami Trail, north of East Baffin Drive.
• Florida Highway Patrol reported that the rider lost control of the motorcycle and fell to the ground.
• The crash occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m.
• The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
• The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office assisted Florida Highway Patrol at the crash scene, and northbound U.S. 41 was temporarily closed during the investigation.
