Sarasota (Bee Ridge Rd & McIntosh Rd) - February 6, 2026

Incident Details

• Florida Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at Bee Ridge Road and McIntosh Road in Sarasota.
• Troopers said the vehicle was traveling west on Bee Ridge Road when the front of the vehicle struck the bicyclist near the east side of the intersection.
• FHP stated it was unclear what direction the bicyclist was traveling.
• The bicyclist was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
• Troopers reported the driver fled west at a high rate of speed; FHP described the suspect vehicle as a 2012–2015 Nissan Altima or Maxima with significant front-end damage.
