Incident Details

Florida Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at Bee Ridge Road and McIntosh Road in Sarasota.
Troopers said the vehicle was traveling west on Bee Ridge Road when the front of the vehicle struck the bicyclist near the east side of the intersection.
FHP stated it was unclear what direction the bicyclist was traveling.
The bicyclist was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
Troopers reported the driver fled west at a high rate of speed; FHP described the suspect vehicle as a 2012–2015 Nissan Altima or Maxima with significant front-end damage.
